1.. IntroductionFerrochromium is an iron and chromium alloy, containing 45–80% Cr and various amounts of Fe, C and other elements. Ferrochromium is produced pyrometallurgically by carbothermic reduction of chromite ore (FeO·Cr 2 O 3) .Slag and arc furnace dusts are generated as waste material in enormous quantities during the ferrochrome production.
